Workshop participants will hear brief p resentations on will present the results of recent research into undertaken on best practices for and the current state of the art in the develop ment of sustainable transportation plans in Canada and other countries , the US and and on the outcomes of cross-Canada consultations scheduled for mid-2005. Initial directions for the development of new s ustainable t ransportation m aster p lan g uidelines for this country will be identified and participants Internationally . Workshop a ttendees will then break into small groups to help be tasked with help ing to re solve some of the most of the more challenging issues . concepts that will be addressed in the proposed new Sustainable Transportation Master Plan Guidelines . Workshop participants will also have the opportunity to comment on the draft contents of the Guide.

Les participants à cet atelier assisteront à de brefs exposés sur les résultats de récentes recherches ayant trait aux meilleures pratiques d'élaboration des plans de transports durables au Canada et dans d'autres pays ainsi que sur les résultats des consultations qui seront menées à ce sujet dans l'ensemble du pays au milieu de 2005. Les orientations initiales en vue de l'élaboration des nouvelles lignes directrices sur les plans directeurs de transports durables au Canada seront définies et les participants formeront ensuite de petits groupes afin de trouver des solutions à certaines des questions qui présentent les défis les plus importants .
