Sustainable transportation principles require us to change the way that we respond to transportation demand. However, long-range transportation plans are often based on only a cursory understanding of the factors that motivate existing transportation behaviour. This panel discussion will investigate one key transportation behaviour – driving – from a psychological perspective. Panelists will offer fresh viewpoints on this including an analysis of how people organize their lives around transportation and a provocative application of positive psychology to the transportation sector.

Les principes du transport durable exigent que nous changions la façon dont nous répondons à la demande en transports. Ceci dit, les plans à long terme de transport ne sont bien souvent fondés que sur une compréhension succincte des facteurs à l’origine des comportements actuels dans ce domaine.
